There are beautiful walks available from your doorstep. Steps Bridge can be reached on foot through the National Trust Bridford woods, and there are popular walks from there through Dunsford Woods (famous for its wild daffodils). Dartmoor is also in easy reach.
Fine beaches at Dawlish Warren and Shaldon are only half an hour away. The beautiful beaches of South Devon can be reached in about an hour.
Pubs and Restaurants
There are number of excellent pubs in easy reach. The nearest is the Bridford Inn, a friendly local pub with good beer and excellent pub food. The Nobody Inn in Doddiscombsleigh is famous for its wine and whisky lists and its good food. The Manor Inn at Ashton, the Cridford Inn at Trusham and the Artichoke Inn at Christow are all popular pubs in the area and provide excellent food.
Fine dining can be found at Gidleigh Park, the famous Michelin starred restaurant near Chagford, the Bovey Castle Hotel near Moretonhampstead, the Salutation Inn in Topsham, and of course at the many excellent restaurants in Exeter. We can provide recommendations.
There are village shops and post offices in Dunsford and Christow. There are supermarkets and most amenities in Exeter, with the nearest supermarket only about 15 minutes drive.
